The 2022 76ers City Edition Jerseys Are Now Available (Sort Of)

2022 76ers City Edition Jersey

After a much anticipated wait, the 2022 Philadelphia 76ers City Edition jerseys are now available (sort of)! The new design, which honors the late great Spectrum, is the nicest I’ve seen in years, especially after last year’s Boathouse Row debacle. In fact, the new gear is so popular that it sold out in mere minutes. So, yes, the new City Edition jerseys are available, but good luck finding them.

Quick recap on the new City Edition design

Celebrating the past

The 2021-22 76ers City Edition uniform celebrates the NBA’s 75th Anniversary and our franchise’s storied history by honoring our beloved home from 1967-1996, the Philadelphia Spectrum. The front of the jersey features a variation of the art-deco style “Sixers” wordmark that the team wore in the mid-1970s in bold red with crisp white outline.

4 for 4

The Spectrum color panels run down both sides of the uniform and nod to Philadelphia’s “4 for 4” sports fans.A “4 for 4” fan supports all four major professional sports teams in Philadelphia.

Numerals

The numerals are derived from our 1976-77 uniforms and the overall Navy Blue base color is a fresh and prestigious look for the team that honors our legacy.

The Spectrum

A custom Spectrum badge logo is adorned on the side of the short to pay homage to “America’s Showplace” the arena that housed so many great memories for the teams and fans through the era. The iconic Spectrum “S” is anchored on the belt.

Brotherly Love

The “Brotherly Love” wordmark sits above the jersey jocktag, a salute to the long-standing bond between the Philadelphia 76ers, Eagles, Phillies, Flyers, Union, Big 5 basketball and their fans, making our city a sports town beyond compare.

City Edition jerseys now available (sort of)

The new 76ers City Edition jerseys went on sale on November 15 at 10 AM EST and are available both at the NBA Store and Fanatics, but items are limited. I logged on around 11 AM yesterday, an hour after the release, and most of the apparel was already sold out especially the jerseys. So unless you want to buy a Ben Simmons jersey, you’re most likely looking at a back order until sometime in January.

Even the hoodies were basically sold out yesterday. Only 3XL and big and tall sizes were available. However, I checked again this morning and there are now some S to XLs available. Still a no go on the jerseys though. My recommendation: keep checking back over the next few days and you may find yourself in luck.

Money not an issue? Check the Euro store.

Forget Simmons. We want a Maxey jersey! Well if your willing to shell out an additional $10 dollars plus international shipping costs, you can pre-order the new City Edition jerseys on the Euro NBA Store. Pre-orders ship on or before December 7.

When all else fails, go to Dick’s

Rumor has it that Dick’s Sporting Goods also has some 76ers City Edition jerseys available. In today’s ecommerce-first world, it may be opportunistic to go to your local store in person. Although, I checked out Dick’s website today, and it looks like they have some Harris and Embiid jersey’s available. Get on that!

Ready, Set, Go!

With the holidays quickly approaching, it may be difficult to find the new 2022 76ers City Edition jerseys, but it’s not impossible. I hope some of the tips provided above help you in your quest. If all else fails, you could always buy a Simmons jersey. Eeek!
